BHARAT MOVIE REVIEW
DIRECTOR: Ali Abbas Zafar
CAST: Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif ,Sunil
Grover ,Disha Patani
Bharat is based on a south Korean movie Ode To My Father(directed by Yon Jekynoon;written by Park Su-jin). Bharat is about history but the film isn’t aiming for historical authenticity. This film place on man’s fictional journey against historic events like 1994 classic Hollywood film Forrest Gump. The story with partition in 1947 and ends in 2010.The story begains in Mirpur village near Lahore. Bharat(Salman Khan) is a kid and his father Gautam Kumar(Jackie Shroff) dotes on him. This is the time of partition and Bharat and his family are compelled to leave for India. When Bharat was top on the train with his sister Gudia(Barbiee Sharma) then she falls down on the station. Gautam stays behind to search for her despite knowing the risk.
As a child
,Bharat takes many odd jobs to support his family. In 1946 he joins The Great
Russian Circus with his best friend. In the mid 1970s ,Bharat joins the Indian
Migration. Here he falls in love with Kumud Raina(Katrina Kaif). After some
days Bharat leaves Saudi after his visa expires. One day Bharat decides to sell
his aunt’s imported goods store. Before letting go on the train,Bharat’s father has promised that
he would come . And the rest Bhart getting married to Kumud and finally they
moved on.
Bye the way
this film is good enough. Sunil Grover is excellent. But Katrina Kaif need’s to
more screentime. She steals almost every scene she’s in with a couple of coy
winks and knowing smiles. Ali Abbas Zafar and Varun V Sharma’s screenplay is
effective and keep viewers engaged from start to finish. The emotional
sequences especially are quite well written. Zafar direction is topnotch and
Salman Khan in signature style; yeh sher Buddha zaroor ho gaya hai lekin
shikaar karna nahin bhoola.
